Is It Worth It?

I've got a few goals in life:

1. Learn to fly a little plane. (I also intend to learn how to land, in case you were wondering)
2. Learn how to blow glass. I saw pictures when I was little in the museum, and it facinated me. I also saw it being done on 4th street, maybe I can learn there over winter break.
3. Live on a farm. I want to grow my own food, and be surrounded by green fields and fresh air.

I'm 5 weeks into my 5th semester of college, with at least another 5 to go. I am currently stressed as I've never been before. I can't sleep, my back aches and I'm starting to get headaches frequently. I barely have time to myself and have to remember to set aside shower time, since otherwise I'll just keep going with the crazy pace my life has set itself in.

Is this what I want? I'm not too sure. Meeting RB had a big impact on my life, and a few things he said stuck with me. First, he told me that to learn how to fly and to realize other dreams of mine, I'm better off with a college degree. No matter what I turn to do, doing it with a degree will be easier. Furthermore, I had the privilige to attend his and Maya's graduation this past May. Seeing them walk in their black gowns really motivated me to work hard and graduate as well. Seeing RB approaching his mid-age crisis and walk down the aisle of the Greek was awesome. But, is this what I want in life?? I'm not sure.

Anniversaries

Thus, we designate a not-so-frequent date in which we can allow ourselves to create a space in remembrance of those killed. Once a year we remember, try to feel what we felt when it first happened. Some people even use such dates for personal reflection and soul-searching. We can afford to avoid planes for one day out of the year, as illogical as that is. However, we cannot get caught up in avoiding anything that someone was killed during. (Unless of course, it’s any sort of substance abuse. Stop this immediately).

This logic was brought to you by someone who grew up in the land of exploding buses, pizzerias and cafes, milk and honey.
